Product Development

Product Development is the full build: we find what the product must do, design it, engineer it, test it and ship it in dated releases.

Overview

We start with the users and the job the product has to do. The first release is the smallest version that does that job well. Each later release is dated and demonstrated before it ships.

You see working software every sprint, not a status report. Scope changes are written down with what they cost in time.

Who it is for

  • Founders building a first product who need a full team, not single freelancers.
  • Companies launching a new product line next to the one they run today.
  • Teams that need to rebuild a product that has outgrown its first version.
  • Product owners who need extra engineering capacity with a delivery lead attached.

What you get

  • Discovery that ends in a written scope, a release plan and an estimate you can hold us to.
  • Product design and a clickable prototype before code.
  • Engineering across web, mobile, backend and APIs.
  • Testing built in from the first sprint, with automated tests in the pipeline.
  • Releases on fixed dates, with a demo at each one.
  • Analytics so you can see how the product is used after launch.
  • Code, designs, documentation and accounts that belong to you.

How it runs

  1. Discovery, two to three weeks: users, jobs, scope, architecture and release plan.
  2. Design: flows, wireframes and a clickable prototype tested with users.
  3. Build in two-week sprints, with a demo at the end of each.
  4. Quality: automated tests, accessibility and performance checks before each release.
  5. Launch: release, monitoring and a short stabilisation period.
  6. Grow: we stay to extend the product, or hand it over to your team.

In practice

  • A customer portal where clients see orders, documents and invoices in one place.
  • A marketplace app with buyer and seller sides, payments and admin tools.
  • An internal operations tool that replaces spreadsheets and email threads.
  • A B2B payments or spend-management platform with approvals, cards and accounting sync.

Technology

  • Web: React, Next.js and TypeScript.
  • Mobile: React Native or Flutter, or native Swift and Kotlin where it matters.
  • Backend: Node.js, Python or Java, with REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Data: PostgreSQL, Redis and the queues the product needs.
  • Hosting on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, with CI/CD from day one.

How we charge

A fixed-fee discovery, then either fixed-scope releases or a dedicated team billed monthly. Both come with a named delivery lead.

Questions

Do we own the code?

Yes. The code, the designs and the accounts are yours from the first commit.

Can you take over a product that is already built?

Yes. We start with a short review of the code and the release process, then agree what to fix first.

How do we stay in control of scope?

Every change is written down with its effect on dates and cost before it is accepted. You decide.
